IMG_1496So I’ve invested in a couple of things this week. Mainly because I’m not going to lie, Louis has been a bit of a nightmare with his sleeps recently. Only this weekend has it all settled down again – thank god!! I know I have been so lucky so far and I’m hoping it’s just a phase but 9 months has brought lots of new challenges now he’s moving about.

Apparently 9 months is a big ‘leap’ (not that I follow the Wonder Weeks because I always get a black cloud when he’s really happy!!). His little brain is in overdrive and he’s now so much more aware of things, e.g. when mummy leaves the room when he’s unsettle at night. Do they have some sort of built in sensor or something!! He’s not a clingy baby so I’m really not sure why, but I’m going with it.

Will was so adamant I didn’t have one as thought I would be slightly obsessed (which to be fair I probably will be – to begin with) but I’ve finally got my own way as he’s been driving us mad in the night. 4am wake ups and he’s just wanted to play. We don’t often rush into him so this way we can just make sure he’s not hurt or in pain before we go in to settle him. I did quite a lot of research and I decided to go with the BT 7500 Video Monitor. There is a full review of this on a lovely friend Steph’s Hello Baby Blog which I found really useful. I was tempted by the Motorola MBP853 so I could hook it to my phone but I did think that really was a bit over the top!!IMG_1506 IMG_1532Anyway it arrived at the weekend and it’s been fab so far – I love it and I have to say our nights are getting back to normal now. If he does wake at all in the night he often just wants his dummy which takes him a few minutes to find, instead of us doing it, we can see him do it himself. So hey presto! So pleased I’ve finally invested in a video monitor.

The other purchase I have had to get is some mesh breathable cot bumpers. I wash;t keen at first because I thought they might look a bit tacky around the cot but I am not joking they have been amazing! Now his dummies don’t go down the sir and he can find them so much more easily. I went for these ones from amazon. They are really easy to fit and they actually look ok.

The little monkey is still into everything – and trying to help Daddy. He had his first accident too this week when he pulled a chair onto himself. I had no idea what to do when blood started pouring from his mouth but it looked a lot worse than it was. A fat lip and an hour later he was at his swimming lesson. They are so much more tough than I think we give them credit for.

I hope you like Week 16.

Lots of love

Lisa xx
