Happy birthday Louis. I can’t believe he is actually one! Where did that time go? I’m doing two parts to week 26 as not only was it his birthday but he got his very own new shoes too. Yippee.

We decided that on his actual birthday we would have a family day. Just the three of us, so Will took the day off. It started with breakfast time.He is such a funny monkey and plays with his food now. He used to be so so good, but now most of it ends up on the floor.

He was so exacted about his presents, although all he really saw were big red boxes with dinosaurs on. We didn’t go nuts as Christmas is only around the corner and we only have a limited amount of floor space available.

I love this toy above. Everyone laughs at me because I’m trying to make him all musical. I’m not going to lie, if he became the next Gary Barlow I would be very proud!! Anyway fun aside, I think music is just so important and it’s a great way to express yourself through anytime in your life. Louis loves showing you his moves and shakes his head and bum when any kind of music comes on. He’s such a comic. I don’t think he take after his Dad though (Will can’t dance to save his life!!).

Yes Louis got his first shoes. He’s so close to walking here. Taking just about 3 steps but still doesn’t quite have that confidence yet to ‘Let Go’. We chose Clarks to get his first shoes as it was part of our day and we’d heard they take a pic too. Even though I did take my big camera. I think they thought I was nuts but oh well. I wanted to tell you folks about it.

We let Louis choose his shoes which was quite handy because they had 50% off!! Now I’m not sure if this is a poly to get you to come back for your next pair (which by the way these cruisers only last 6-8 weeks!!) but at least at £13 it didn’t feel too bad. It also happened to my friend but it’s not advertised or anything!! But not complaining at all.

After our busy day getting shoes it was time for lunch so we used our Tastecard which is so handy when you are on Mat leave. You get 241 on a selection of chain restaurants. They are doing an offer at the mo too at 3 months for a £1. We got ours though Natwest bank for free!! We headed to Zizzi’s and had launch just the three of us. It was so nice to reflect on the last year and talk about how amazing it was to be parents and how much we love him to pieces. Obviously it hasn’t all been wonderful, the first few months were hard work, mainly through broken sleep but I can’t work out whether it’s because I’m now used to no sleep or he’s got better 😉 Its definitely true to say that life really does change after having a child but totally for the better. I can’t imagine life without him now.
