‘A portrait of my child, once a week, every week.′
I have been meaning to do this for a long time now. The amount of people that say to me as a photographer ‘you must have loads of photos of you little one!!’. But regrettably I don’t have as many as I would like. My friend Steph who owns Hello Baby Blog inspired me to start ‘Project 52’. She actually found it through another blogger Practising Simplicity, who is also a photographer. I just need something to make me use my ‘big’ camera on my little boy Louis more – I do have hundreds of iPhone pics and videos though. So here is the start of my 52 Project. I get to take pics of my boy and you guys get to see my work more.
I think the intention is to start at the beginning of the year or when your baby is born but better late than never I say. So I need to take a pic every week of my little man growing up or in my case I may take a few!! I’ll just decide per post. Everything is going so fast I just want to saver every moment and that’s the beauty of pictures, because you can. This project also works amazingly for me as it’s about real everyday moments which is what I love about babies, kids and family photography, capturing real life.
So this was a lazy day with my friend and taken just short of Louis becoming 6 months old. And what a journey it has been. I’ve learnt so much in the last six months I don’t even know where to begin.
Two products stand out which have literally saved my life. I do plan to do a review on these things when I get round to it but for now they are the Peanut Swaddle and The Sleepy Head. These have been my miracle products that literally saved my sanity in the first weeks of becoming a mother.
I have learnt how to be very patient and also how to become incredibly efficient!! I thought I was already but until I had a child I have like times it by 100!! I also didn’t think I could love a little person so much it hurts sometimes. I am loving every second bringing my little boy up and I’m in a very happy place right now.
Lots of Love Lisa xx
