Because I don’t need to mould the baby I don’t specifically ask for them to be under 2 weeks old. I believe anytime up to 12 -14 weeks is fine. You may feel more ready at around 6 weeks. For very tiny babies I suggest the home is the best place to keep them nice and cosy. However if you are wanting to get out and about after 6 weeks if the wether is nice you may want to pop out for a bit to get a bit of fresh air. Maybe you would like to go back to somewhere special that means something to you. I’m happy to do both if you select a place close by.

A session typically lasts about an hour with a family. the reason for this is that babies don’t last too long and you are also pretty pooped too. I am really flexible with feeds and settling too so I do allow up to 2 but this is rarely required. As it’s in your natural relaxed setting the baby doesn’t feel any different and we just get some lovely shots of you and your new baby together as a family.

It is so important that you wear what you feel comfortable in as you have just had a baby. I tend to say don’t wear any big logos or loud patterns. No need to coordinate unless you want to. The more comfortable you feel, the more relaxed you and the family will be and one less thing to worry about. For the baby just lovely pastels or whites is fine. there is no need to go out and buy a special outfit unless you want too. Tiny baby grows work really well on my sessions.

The last thing I want you to do is stress about the house when you have just had a baby or you simply don’t have time. I can work in the smallest of spaces and we can move things about on the day. The most important thing is that we capture you, your family and your baby together just being you. This time just goes so quickly.

Absolutely! Although I am very much capturing the moment, I do like to make sure we have a certain number of photos in a certain way. I tend not to ask you to look at the camera much but when I see the time is right I will definitely get a slightly more posed photo. After all the parents love these ones! Generally the session is much more relaxed though and you tend to get the best ones this way in your natural surroundings.
