I have been meaning to post this for a whole year nearly but one thing after another keeps happening e.g. having a baby!! I was actually about 30 weeks pregnant when I did this shoot for the Arkwright’s and I was a guest too. I felt really honoured as Jo is a photographer herself. We were literally walking down the canal near ours and she asked if I would do it. How could I say no! Jo and Bertie (who is one of my husbands friends from University) have 3 beautiful triplets. Yes you heard me right triplets!!
I literally take my hat off to them each and everyday when I’m struggling with getting just the one out of the door. They are an incredible couple that have brought 3 beautiful boys, Wilbur, Teddy and Arthur into the world. I have asked them what their secret is but to be honest there isn’t one, they are just such a great chilled out couple and clearly it rubs off onto the boys. They have just taken each day in their stride.Well done Jo – they are such lovely boys.
The day was simply beautiful and I’ve just pulled together some of may favourite pics to show everyone what a lovely day it was. It was such a nice ceremony. Lots of people but that’s because they were doing all 3 in one go, so there were many godparents gathering together. My husband was godfather to Teddy. I just love the pics where they are waiting patiently in the church. They were’t great fans of the water on their heads though. Ha ha. Who would be – it’s cold.
Just before heading over to the village hall a few gather outside to get some pics. It was quite dull in the morning so the fact the sun was out was an absolute bonus although a tad windy.
Jo had gone into so much detail and the village hall was beautiful. I managed to get a few pics before everyone headed over and demolished the cakes. It was so hard not to stick my finger in one!! Too yummy!
Then everyone arrived and the room was filled with everyone. It was such a great little tea party and lots of fun for the kids too. Jo had just made it perfect. I was finally relieved to be eating the yummy cakes – I was 30 weeks pregnant after all. I needed my sugar.
I loved capturing all these moments at a christening. It was a bit like a mini wedding actually. I really enjoyed it and hope to do a christening again soon. I don’t think it’s necessarily something that people think they want to capture but I thought it was a lovely thing to do and it means Jo and Bertie have this captured forever, as there was clearly a lot of heard work and effort that went into it. I’m just sorry I have only just posted this. If you know anyone or would like more information then please do get in touch, as I would love to capture your day.
Lots of love
