I just had to share these pics! When Emma said she wanted to get some pictures taken of the kids I was more than happy to say yes yes yes!! Emma picked a great location local to where they live and where the kids go a lot. It was at their local park in Alvechurch where there was forest, fields and a playground. I always like to discuss the best location and often choose one that the kids are familiar with if at all possible and this was a great spot. If they know where they are going, it’s a great way of capturing them in their usual surroundings.

To get them into the swing of things I decided to do a little activity, which not only got them excited, but they immediately relaxed and played. So off we went and located a ‘very lonely’ tree, which they found themselves and we decorated it in Christmas decorations. It was very apt being the run up to Christmas. The kids loved it.

I don’t like to use too many props but I couldn’t resists getting my family letters out of my box of tricks. Originally Emma only wanted to get some shots of the kids but I just had to get them involved in this one. How cute do they all look!!??

Then we trotted over the river to the park and took some really natural shots in their favourite playground.

I thoroughly enjoyed my afternoon with the Chambers family. Do you have any special places you go with the kids local to you? I would love to hear about them and get some new ideas for family shoots.
